I created a gradient in painshop pro using the eye dropper tool to match the colour & tone of the original image added one of the built in textures that closely matched the original background then using fill added the gradient to a 1920x1080 canvas. I then too the original imaged pasted it as a layer onto the new background then using erase with the airbrush brush I erased the original pic blending it with the new back ground. Lastly I added a starburst effect were the camera light would have been in the picture then finished of with various enhancements to colour etc.
